First three weeks this season were forgettable, came into last night avg'ing 184.....way down.
Last night, I started about 4 boards left of where I'd been standing, and the adjustment seemed to pay off. The lanes have been flying since Week 1, and I'd been fighting them, instead of adjusting to them. The move left allowed me to not throw the ball quite as hard, and I had more consistent control.....didn't have to throw the living hell outta the ball.
First game was my best....a clean 220. Was nice to get off on the right foot. Started out a little shaky, but covered all my spares then finished strong. Second game was pretty solid, again making some hay late in the game to make up for a missed 4-7 and 10-pin -- 211. Third game I opened up with a 4-9 and later missed another 10-pin, but I was able to finish with the last 4 for a 204.
635 series isn't anything to go nuts about, but considering the way I've shot up until now, I'm satisfied to have a better look, a consistent night, and get the average moving in the right direction.
Unfortunately, it didn't help us any, as we ran into Team Buzzsaw last night. I'm not sure what the finally tally was, but I think the 4-man team we played shot close to 2700.....not terribly far off if the didn't. So, we got spanked 7-0.
Going on vacation this weekend so I'll be missing next week, but hope to return and pick right back where I left off.
Good luck on the lanes to all, and see you in a couple of weeks.
