I usually don't do real well the further I get away from lanes 1-2 for some reason....last night we were on 17-18, so I was a little concerned, but I came away with a decent, non-descript set, mostly marred by bad carry.
Only three opens, two in the first game, en route to a 200-204-206=610.
I started Game 1 with the baby split, and managed to miss both pins BETWEEN the 3-10. Didn't even nudge either one of them. Very strange. I whiffed on a 10-pin later in the game, but put a few strikes together to eke out the deuce.
Second game I was clean, but had 10-pin-itis, along with a ringing 7-pin, so it was a lotta 9-spares, and just one double I believe.
Third game I picked the 2-4 off the 5 for an open, but came back with a 4-bagger to save the game, and my 600.
My spare shooting was solid for the most part, and I've now shot 7 200's in a row, and my last 10 games have been over 190. Unfortunately I've only had one game over 215 in that stretch, and still looking for a big game overall -- My high on the year after 27 games is just 244.
Average still holding steady at 201. A little frustrating, but hoping these non-disastrous series will make a difference in the long run, when the carry starts returning and some bigger numbers turn out.

Good shooting Scott - you can't really complain when you're stringing 200's together.. I changed the way a shoot the 2-4-5 lately - too many chopping the 2/4 off and leaving the 5. I'm going straighter towards the 4 with the spare ball, and cuts the angle down, lowering the risk of the chop. But for the bucket I'll continue to use my strike ball as you cannot miss left of the 2.
PhilTake care and keep bowling well.
